 = > 2 {x}^{2} + 7x - 4 = 0

It is in the form of quadratic equation:-

ax^2+bx+c

 = > 2 {x}^{2} + 8x - x - 4 = 0

 = > 2x(x + 4) - 1(x + 4) = 0

 = > (2x - 1)(x + 4) = 0

 = > 2x - 1 = 0 \: | \: x + 4 = 0

 = > x = \frac{1}{2 } \: and \: x = - 4

Therefore,The roots are 1/2 and -4
