find the zero of polynomial
p(x)=7x-8
p(x)=x+8​

split the expression

x²-7x-8

x²-8x+x-8

x(x-8)+1(x-8)

(x-8)(x+1)

now equating to 0

(x-8)=0

x= 8

(x+1)=0

x= -1

Hence other zero is -1

(i) 7x-8 = 0

7x = 8

x = 8/7

8/7 is the zero of polynomial.

(ii) x + 8 = 0

x = -8

-8 is the zero of the polynomial.
