\huge\mathfrak\blue{Answer:}

Zero of Polynomial:

  • The zero or root of the Polynomial are the value of x for which the value of Polynomial becomes zero

Given:

  • We have been given a Polynomial Function
  • P( x ) = ax + b

To Find:

  • We have to find the zero of given linear Polynomial

Solution:

Let y be the zero of given Polynomial

\implies P( x ) = ax + b

Putting x = y in given Polynomial

\implies P( y ) = ay + b _____ ( 1 )

Since y is the zero of P( x )

\implies P ( y ) = 0

\implies ay + b = 0

\implies ay = ( -b )

\implies y = - \dfrac{b}{a}

The zero of Polynomial is ( -b/a )
