SOLUTION:-

Given

p(x)= 5x²+8x-4

To find

Zeros and relationships between zeros and coefficients

Explanation

p(x)= 5x²+8x-4

= 5x²+(10-2)x-4

= 5x²+10x-2x-4

= 5x(x+2)-2(x+2)

= (x+2)(5x-2)

= x=-2, x= 2/5

Sum of zeros = -b/a

 - 2 +  \frac{2}{5}  =  \frac{ - 8}{5} \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 10 + 2}{5}   = \frac{ - 8}{5}   \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 8}{5}  =  \frac{ - 8}{5}

Product of zeros = c/a

 - 2 \times  \frac{2}{5}  =  \frac{ - 4}{5}  \\  \\  =  \frac{ - 4}{5}  =  \frac{ - 4}{5}

Hence verified!!!
