Solution

Given :-

  • Equation, 2x² - 3 + 5x = 0

Find :-

  • Zeroes of given equation ,
  • verify the relationship between the zero and the co-effectients

Explanation

Given equation,

==> 2x² + 5x - 3 = 0

Now, Calculate zeroes of given equation,

==> 2x² + 6x - x - 3 = 0

==> 2x(x+3)-1(x+3) = 0

==> (2x-1)(x+3) = 0

==> 2x - 1 = 0. , Or x + 3 = 0

==> 2x = 1 Or, x = -3

==> x = 1/2 Or. x = -3

Hence

  • Zeroes of given equation, be x = 1/2 & -3

_______________

Now, Calculate relationship between zeroes & coefficient

Using Formula

Sum of zeroes = -(Coefficient of x)/(Coefficient of x²)

Product of zeroes = (constant part)/(Coefficient of x²)

So,Let

  • Zeroes is p & q

==> Sum of zeroes = -5/2

==> p + q = -5/2 ----------(1)

And,

==> product of zeroes = -3/2

==> p . q = -3/2--------------(2)
