• Find the zero polynomial of p(x) =x²+x-2.

Solution :-

Let p(x) =0

Hence,

$x {}^{2} + x - 2 = 0$

Factorise by splitting middle term

$x {}^{2} + 2x - x - 2 = 0 \\ \\ x(x + 2) - 1(x + 2) = 0 \\ \\ (x + 2)(x - 1) = 0$

Now split it into possible cases

$(x + 2) = 0 \\ \\ \\ (x - 1) = 0$

Hence,

$x_1 = ( - 2) \\ \\ x_2 =( 1)$
