p(x)=0
2x+5=0
2x=-5
x=-5/2

If p(x) is zero then 2x +5 = 0 2x = -5 x = -5/2 Now put x = -5/2 p(-5/2) = 2(-5/2) + 5 = -5 +5 = 0 So -5/2 is the zero of polynomial p(x) = 2x +5
