i)Let p(x) =5x^2-8x-4
To find zeroes we have make
P(x)=0
5x^2-8x-4=0
Spilt th middle term
5x^2-10x+2x-4=0
5x(x-2)+2(x-2)=0
(x-2)(5x+2)=0
x-2=0 or 5x+2=0
x=2 or x=-2/5
Therefore
Zeroes are p=2, q=-2/5
ii) compare p(x)=0 with ax^2+bx+c=0
a=5, b=-8,c=-4
iii) sum of the zeroes= -b/a=-(-8/5)=8/5
p+q=2-2/5=(10-2)/5=8/5
iii) product of the zeroes =c/a=-4/5
pq=2×(-2/5)=-4/5
