Given polynomial is 5x2−8x−4

Here, a=5,b=−8  and c=−4

5x2−8x−4=5x2−10x+2x−4

                        =5x(x−2)+2(x−2)

                        =(x−2)(5x+2)

So, the value of 5x2−8x−4 is zero when x=2 or x=5−2

Threrfore , the zeroes of 5x2−8−4  are 2  and 5−2.

Now, sum of zeroes =2+(5−2)=58=a−b

product  of zeroes =2×(5−2)=5−4=ac

Hence verified.
