Given, polynomial is x² - 7x + 12.

Now, we have to find the zeros of the above polynomial by quadratic formula or by splitting the middle term.

By Splitting the middle term.

⇒ x² - 7x + 12 = 0

The above equation is in the form ax² + bx + c = 0.

Where, a = 1, b = -7 and c = 12

⇒ x² - 3x - 4x + 12 = 0

⇒ x(x - 3) -4(x - 3) = 0

⇒ (x - 4) (x - 3) = 0

On comparing we get,

⇒ x = 4, 3

Therefore,

Zeros are 4 and 3.

Verification:

Sum of zeros = -b/a

⇒ 4 + 3 = -(-7)/1

⇒ 7 = 7

Product of zeros = c/a

⇒ 4 × 3 = 12/1

⇒ 12 = 12
