Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

ANSWER:-

p(x)=x^{2}+x-2

TO FIND: Zeroes of Polynomial.

METHOD USED: Middle term Factorisation.

Using Middle term Factorisation ,

x^2+x-2

Factors applicable- +2 and -1

=x^{2}+2x-x-2

Taking x common in first

Taking -1 common in second:-

=x(x+2)-1(x+2)

=(x+2)(x-1) are the factors,

Finding Zeroes:-

  • In x+2

x+2=0

x = -2

One zero is -2.

  • In x-1,

x-1=0

x= 1

Another zero is 1.

So two zeroes of polynomial is -2 and 1.

x² + x - 2

Now splitting the middle term , we get ,

⇒ x² + x - 2x - 2

⇒ x ( x + 1 ) - 2 ( x + 1 )

⇒ ( x + 1 ) ( x - 2 )

⇒ x = -1 & x = 2
