z^2 - 8

= z^2 - (2√2)^2

Using a^2 - b^2 = (a+b) (a-b)

z^2 - (2√2)^2 = 0

=> (z - 22) (z + 22) = 0

Therefore, (z - 2√2) = 0 OR

(z + 2√2) = 0

So, z = 22 or (-22).
