Step-by-step explanation:

The polynomial is

x^2 +1/6x -2

For its zeros

x^2+1/6x-2= 0

6x^2+x-2=0

6x^2-3x+4x-2=0

3x(2x-1)+2(2x-1)= 0

(3x+2)(2x-1)=0

(3x+2)=0 or, (2x-1)=0

x=-2/3 and 1/2 are the required zeros .

Verification :-

sum of zeros = -2/3+1/2=( -4+3)/6= -1/6=-bb-(coefficient of x)/coefficient of x^2

product of zeros= -1/3= -2/6= c/a. =constant term /coefficient of x^2
