To FinD :

  • Zeros of the polynomial and we have to verify relationship between zeros and coefficient of the given equation.

SolutioN :

1) We have to find zeros of the equation

⇒x² - 9 = 0

⇒x² = 9

⇒x = √(9)

⇒x = ± 3

\therefore Zeros of polynomials are +3 and -3

As we know that the general form of quadratic equation is ax² + bx + c

On comparing we get,

  • a = 1
  • b = 0
  • c = -9

Now, formula for Sum of zeros is :

➠ Sum of zeros = -b/a

⇒3 + (-3) = -0/1

⇒3 - 3 = 0

⇒0 = 0

And formula for Product of zeros is :

➠ Product = c/a

⇒3*(-3) = -9/1

⇒-9 = -9

\therefore The relationship is verified
