Answer:

x^2-2x-8

a=1

b= -2

c=-8

now...sum of the zeros : -b/a

: -(-2)/1=2

product of zeros : c/ a =-8/1= -8

by splitting the middle term:

x^2-4x+2x-8

x(x-4)+2(x-4)

(x+2)(x-4)

alpha= -2

beta = 4

sum of zeros : alpha + beta

: -2+4=2

product of zeros : alpha * beta

: -2*4= -8

Hence verified!!

Hope it helps!
