Answer:

3, 4 and -2

Step-by-step explanation:

product of roots of a cubic equation

=. - constant term/ coefficient of X3

let the roots be a, b and c

given, ab = 12

now

abc = -24/1

12c = -24

c = -2

now,

a + b + c = -coefficient of x2/coefficient of X3

a + b + (-2) = -(-5)/1

a + b + 2 = 5

a + b = 5+2

a+b = 7......eqn 1

again

a+b = 7 and ab = 12

a(7-a) = 12

7a - a^2 = 12

a^2 - 7a + 12 = 0

this gives

a = 4, b= 3 or

a=3, b=4

both are same set

so the roots are

3, 4 and -2
