x {}^{2}  - 2x - 8 = 0 \\ x {}^{2} - (4 - 2)x - 8 = 0 \\ x {}^{2}  - 4x + 2x - 8 = 0 \\ x(x - 4) + 2(x - 4) = 0  \\ (x - 4)(x + 2) = 0 \\ x = 4 \: and \:  - 2
so the zeroes are 4 and -2

In the quadratic equation , a=1 , b=-2 , c= -8
sum of zeroes = -b/a
2=2

product of zeroes =c/a
-8= -8
Hence verified ...
