Here is ur answer :

p (x) = x^2 -2x - 8

Let,

p (x)=0

.

. . x^2 - 2x -8=0

.

. . x^2-4x+2x-8=0

.

. . x (x-4)+2 (x-4)=0

.

. . (x-4)(x+2)=0

.

. .x-4=0 & x+2=0

.

. . x=4 x=-2

Here,

Alpha =4, Beta =-2

Here ,

a=1,b=-2,c=-8

Verification :

alpha + beta = 4+(-2)

=4-2

= 2/1

=-b/a

alpha beta = (4)×(-2)

= -8/1

= c/a

Hope it's help u mark on brainlist ☺ ☺
