 {x}^{2}  + 2x - 8 = 0

 {x}^{2}  + 4x - 2x  - 8 = 0

 x(x + 4) - 2(x + 4) = 0

(x - 2)(x + 4) = 0

x = 2 \: , \: x =  - 4
