Answer:

x = +5, -5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

p(x) = x^2 - 25

Since, it is a quadratic equation, thus it will have two zeroes that is 'α' and 'β'.

Then,

x^2 - 25 = 0

=> x^2 = 25

=> x = +/- √25 = +/- 5

=> x = +5, -5

For the values of x :

x = + 5 ( α )

x = -5 ( β )

VERIFICATION :

Here, a = 1 , b = 0 , c = 25

We know that,

i) α + β = -b/a

=> +5 - 5 = 0/1

=> 0 = 0

LHS = RHS

Hence, verified

ii) α × β = c/a

=> (5) × (-5) = -25/1

=> -25 = -25

LHS = RHS

Hence, verified.
