 8 x^{2}-4
4(2 x^{2} -1)
as 4 cannot b equal to 0
so, 2 x^{2} -1=0
 x^{2} = -1/2 and 1/2
 \sqrt{ x^{2} } =  \sqrt{1/2} and \sqrt{-1/2} these are the two values of x.
verification
xy =c/a
 \sqrt{1/2}   multiply  \sqrt{-1/2} =  -1/2,also -4/8 =-1/2
