Answer:

Most of India's major iron and steel industries are located in Chota Nagpur Plateau region because of the availability of high-grade iron ore, good quality of coking coal and other supplementing raw material.

Chota Nagpur Plateau region comprising parts of Chattisgarh, Northern Orissa, Jharkhand, and Western West Bengal.

Large integrated Steel Plants which are found in this region are -

(1) Rourkela Steel Plant, Orissa

(2) Burnpur steel plant, West Bengal

(3) Durgapur Steel Plant, West Bengal

(4) Kulti Steel Plant, West Bengal

(5) Jamshedpur steel plant, Jharkhand

(6) Bokaro Steel Plant, Jharkhand

Thus iron and steel industries in Vishakhapatnam(Andhra Pradesh), Salem (Tamilnadu,) Bhadravati (Karnataka), and Vijayanagar(Karnataka) are located outside the Chota Nagpur Plateau region.
