To find :

The numbers so that after they are filled in the boxes , they fulfill all the equations .

Solution :

Let four variables be m , n , o and p .

In clockwise direction ,

m + n = 8    ......(i)

n + o = 8     ......(ii)

p - o = 6      .......(iii)

m + p = 13    .......(iv)

by solving the equations (i) and (ii) , we get ,

→ m = o  

using m=o in (iii) and (iv) , and solving it

p = 9.5

and , o = 3.5

as m = o , then , m = 3.5  

putting m = 3.5 in (i) ,

n = 4.5

m = 3.5 , n = 4.5 , o = 3.5 and p = 9.5 clockwise from top left corner according to viewer .
