Hey friend..

Seems the eq. Is incorrect as if we solve this eq. Variable x get cancelled.

x-1=x-3 (given)

By transposing the terms in LHS to RHS, we get :

x-x=-3+1

0=-2

And BAM variable disappears!

Since LHS and RHS aren't equal AND the variable vanishes, I think you've gone wrong with your question, mate!

Anyway, hope you understood why this question doesn't work.
