Displacement= area under vt graph with respective sign.

(a). Distance =Displacement=

$(1 \div 2) \times 20 \times 10$

= 100m.

(b). Displacement =

$(1 \div 2) \times 20 \times 10 - (1 \div 2) \times 5 \times 5$

=100-12.5=87.5m.

Distance = 100+12.5=112.5m.
