LCM OF 5 AND 3 IS 15

3/5 × 3/3 = 9/15

2/3 × 5/5 = 10/15

NOW , MULTIPLY BY 4 TO GET A GREATER DIFFERENCE AMONG THE TWO NEW NUMBERS

9×4/15×4 = 36/60

10×4/15×4 = 40/60

THREE RATIONAL NUMBERS BETWEEN 3/5 AND 2/3 ARE - 37/60, 38/60, 39/60

To find : three rational between  \frac{3}{5}  and  \frac{2}{3}

Solution :

  • To find rational numbers between two rational numbers we first check the values of denominator of both rational numbers .
  • Here values of denominators are different.
  • In case of different value of denominators we equate denominators by taking LCM or by cross multiplication of numerators and denominators of given rational numbers .
  • Hence we find LCM of denominators 5 and 3.
  • LCM =15
  • Now, we multiply numerators by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get,

               \frac{3\times 3}{15} \ and \ \frac{2\times 5}{15}

       ⇒      \frac{9}{15}  \ and \ \frac{10}{15}

  • As we can' t find three rational number between    \frac{9}{15} \ and \ \frac{10}{15}  we multiply the numerators and denominators by multiples of 10.
  • Hence , we get  \frac{90}{150} \ and \ \frac{100}{150}
  • Therefore, three rational number between  \frac{90}{150} \ and \ \frac{100}{150} are \frac{91}{150}\ , \frac{92}{150} , \frac{93}{150}
