Correct Question :

  • Find three rational numbers between rational numbers 4/6 and 7/9.

Given :

  • 1st rational number = 4/6
  • 2nd rational number = 7/9

To Find :

  • Three rational number between the given rational number.

Solution :

First we convert given rational numbers to rational number with the same denominator equal to the LCM (Lowest Common Factor) of their denominator. The LCM of denominator 6 and 9 is :

2 | 6 , 9

3 | 3 , 9

3 | 1 , 3

| 1 , 1

⛬ LCM of 6 and 9 = 2 × 3 × 3 = 18

⠀⟶⠀4/6 = 4 × 3/6 × 3 = 12/18

⠀⟶⠀7/9 = 7 × 2/9 × 2 = 14/18

Between the numerator 12 and 13 of these equivalent rational numbers there is only 1 Integer. So, we replace these numbers by equivalent rational numbers having a sufficiently large common denominator.

⠀⟶⠀12/18 = 12 × 2/18 × 2 = 24/36

⠀⟶⠀14/18 = 14 × 2/18 × 2 = 28/36

Between 24 and 28 there are three integer 25 , 26 and 27.

⛬ Three Rational numbers between 4/6 and 7/9 are 25/36 , 26/36 and 27/36
