Given: Dimensions are 4 m x 50 cm x 20cm.

To find The total surface area of the cuboid

Solution: Cuboid is the three-dimensional figure that has eight vertices, twelve edges, six faces. The cuboid can also be referred to as the rectangular prism. It has length(l), height(h), and breadth(b) and its volume(V) can be represented as V= length(l)×height(h)×breadth(b) and Surface Area is 2×((l×b)+(b×h)+(l×h))

Given the dimensions of a cuboid are:

Length(l)= 4m

             =(4×100)cm  [∵1m=100cm]

             = 400cm

Breadth(b)= 50 cm

Height(h) = 20cm

∴ The total surface area of the cuboid

= 2×((l×b)+(b×h)+(l×h))

= 2×((400×50)+(50×20)+(400×20)) cm² [substituting the values of l, b, h]

= 2×(20000+1000+8000) cm²

= (2×29000) cm²

= 58000cm²

=(58000/10000)m²  [∵1m²=10000cm²]

=5.8m²

Hence the total surface area of the cuboid is 5.8m².
