Given:- a = 5; b= 11; n = 2

To Find:- Two Arithmetic means between 5 and 11

Solution:-

As we know common difference (d) =

$\frac{b - a}{n + 1}$

By putting the values in the formula

$= \frac{11 - 5}{2 + 1}$

$= \frac{6}{3}$

$= 2$

d = 2

First Arithmetic mean =

$a \: + \: d$

$= 5 + 2$

$= 7$

Second Arithmetic mean =

$a \: + \: 2d$

$= 5 + (2 \times 2)$

$= 5 + 4$

$= 9$

Hence, Two Arithmetic means are 7 and 9
