Find two consecutive even numbers such that one-eighth of the greater number
exceeds one-tenth of the lesser number by 3.​

Answer:

Let the numbers be x and x+2.

So we have (x+2) = 3 + x/4, or

multiply by (4) from given equation,we get

∴4x+8 = 12 + x

∴3x = 4

∴x = 4/3.

x= 4/3
