Hiiii there!!

Let the first number be x
The consecutive number= x+1

The equation formed-
x+x+1=85
2x=85-1
x= 84/2
x=42 ANS
Another number =42+1= 43 ANS

Hope it works.....

Let one of them is to be 'x'then the other is 'x+1'

then according to the question ,

x+x+1 = 85
2x +1 =85
2x = 85-1
2x = 84
x= 84/2
x=42

therefore, one of them is 42 and the other one is 43.
