let the two consecutive number are x and x+1
(x+1)+3x=53
x+1+3x=53
4x=52
x=13
so numbers are 13,1 4

Let the two no. be x and x+1
(x+1)+3x=53
4x+1=53
4x=53-1
4x=52
x=52/4
x=13

hence,
the required no is x=13 and x+1 =14
