let smaller number=x
greater number=x+2
so,

2x/5-4=2x+4/9
2x-20/5=2x+4/9
18x-180=10x+20.
18(x-10)=10(x+2)
x-10/10=x+2/18
x/10-10/10=x/18+2/18
x/10-1=x/18+1/9
x/10-x/18=1/9+1
9x-5x=10/9
81x-45x=10
36x=10.
x=5/13
