Let the two consecutive odd numbers be "x" and "x+2".

Now,

x + (x+2) = 32

2x + 2 = 32

x = 15

Then the numbers will be 15 and 17

Proof:

15 + 17 = 32

  • Let the first consecutive odd number be x.

  • Let the second consecutive odd number be x + 2.

According to the question

 \bf \large \longrightarrow \:(x) \: + \: (x + 2) \: = \: 32

Opening brackets and simplifying.

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:x \: + \: x + 2 \: = \: 32

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:2x \: + \: 2 \: = \: 32

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:2x \: = \: 32 \: - \: 2

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:2x \: = \: 30

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:x \: = \: \frac{30}{2} \\

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:x \: = \: \cancel\frac{30}{2} \: \: ^{15} \\

\bf \large \longrightarrow \:x \: = \: 15

⇛First consecutive odd number is 15.

Then ,

⇛Second number be x + 2

⇛15 + 2 = 17

⇛Second consecutive odd number is 17.
