Let the two consecutive numbers be x and x+2

according to the given condition the equation formed will be,

x + x + 2 = 18

2x + 2 = 18

2x = 18-2

2x = 16

x = 16/2

x = 8

So the two numbers would be 8 and 10

Hope it helps you !!!

Answer:

let's take one number as X and the other as X+2

adding this we should get the results as 18

X+(X+2)=18

X+X+2=18

2X+2=18

taking 2 common from the LHS

2(X+1)=18

X+1=18/2

X+1=9

X=9-1

X=8

one number would be 8 and another would be 10
