Answer :-

As it's Given

▪️Sum of Two times the first number and the second number = 142

▪️Four times the first number increase the seven times second number by 138.

Let the numbers be x and y

Now by forming equation

2x + y = 142 ...(i)

4x - 7y = 138 (ii)

Now by subtracting (ii) from 2×(i)

4x + 2y = 284

-4x + 7y = 138

_______________

9y = 146

y = 146/9

Now by substituting value of y in (i)

→ 2x + 146/9 = 142

→ 2x = 142 - 146/9

→ 2x = (1278 - 146)/9

→ 2x = 1136/9

→ x = 566/9

So Numbers = 566/9 and 146/9
