•let the first no. and second no. be x and y then,

◆the sum of twice first and thrice the second no. is 97

=>2x+3y=97________1)

◆four times the first exceeds six time the second by 14

=>4x-14=6y

=>4x-6y=14___________2)

●From i) & ¡¡) we have :

2x+3y=97______(×4){multiplying with 4}
4x-6y=14______(×2){multiplying with 2}

we have:

8x+12y=388

8x-12y=28
___________
16x=416

x=416/16

x=104/4

x=26

putting this in eq 1) we have:

3y=97-52

3y=45

y=45/3

y=15
