Solution:

Let one number be x, then other number be 27 - X

ATQ

⇒ x (27-x) = 182

⇒ x²- 27x + 182 = 0

⇒ x² -14x- 13x + 182 = 0

⇒ x (x - 14) - 13 (x - 14) = 0

⇒(x - 13) (x - 14) = 0

⇒ x - 13 = 0

or x- 14=10

⇒ x = 13

or x = 14

Hence, the numbers are 13 and 14.

AnswEr :-

• The two numbers are 13 and 14.

Given :-

• Sum of two numbers is 27.

• Their product is 182.

To Find :-

• These two numbers.

Solution :-

Let

• first number be x.

• Second number be 27 - x

• Their product is 182.

According to question :-

x (27 - x) = 182

➪ 27 x - x² = 182

➪ -x² + 27x = 182

➪ -x² + 27x - 182 = 0

➪ x² - 27x + 182 = 0 [ multiply whole eq by - ]

➪ x² - 14x - 13x + 182

➪ x (x - 14) - 13 (x - 14)

➪ (x - 13) (x - 14)

☯︎ x - 13 = 0

➪ x = 0 + 13

➪ x = 13

☯︎ x - 14 = 0

➪ x = 0 + 14

➪ x = 14

Hence, the two numbers are 13 and 14.
