x + y = 64 ( eq 1)

x- y = 4 or x = 4+y eq 2

we got the value of x

substituting the value of x in eq 1

we get , 4+y + y = 64

4 + 2y = 64

2y = 64 -4

2y = 60

y = 60 / 2 = 30

substituting the value of y in eq 2

we get , x = 4 + 30

x = 34

Let the 2 no.s be= x and y.

As per the question, x+y= 64 and x-y= 4

In x+y=64, x=64-y.

We can substitute this value of x in the second equation i.e. x-y=4

x-y= (64-y)-y= 4

=> 64-2y= 4

=>-2y= 4-64= (-60)

=>-2y= -60

=> y= (-60)/(-2)

=>y= 30.

x+y= x+30= 64

=>x= 64-30= 34

Hence, we get the answer x=34, y=30.

Hope it helped :D
