Given :

  • Sum of two numbers is 65
  • First number is twice and 10 more than the second number.

To Find :

  • What are the numbers?

Solution :

Let the first number be x

Then the other be 2x + 10

According to the question,

x + 2x + 10 = 65

3x = 65 - 10

3x = 55

x = 55/3

and the second number is 2x + 10

55/3 * 2 + 10

110/3 + 10

110 + 30/3

= 140/3
