Sum of two numbers is 506

x + y = 506-----------2
Add equation 1 & 2

x - y = 2
x + y = 506

2x = 508
-----------------
x = 508/2


x = 254


Substitute x = 254 in equation 1

x - y = 2

254 - y = 2

-y = 2 - 254

-y = -252


y = 252
