So,

$= > \frac{8y - 5y}{5y} = 150$

$= > \frac{3y}{5} = 150$

$= > 3y = 150 \times 5$

$= > 3y = 750$

$= > y = \frac{750}{3}$

$= > y = 250$

Now Putting the Value of y in Equation (1)

$= > x = \frac{8 \times 250}{5}$

$= > x = 8 \times 50$

$= > x = 400$

So,

• x=400
• y=250

∴Two positive numbers are 400 and 250.
