Given:-

  • Ratio of 2 numbers=8:5
  • Difference between 2 numbers=150

To Find:-

  • The two Positive numbers.

Solution:-

Let the Two Positive Integers are x and y

Ratio is 8:5

So,

 \frac{x}{y}  =  \frac{8}{5}

Both Side multiplying by y

x =  \frac{8y}{5} ..(1)

And

The Difference is 150

So,

x - y = 150..(2)

Putting the value of x in Equation (2)

 =  >  \frac{8y}{5}  - y = 150

 =  > \frac{8y}{5} -  \frac{5y}{5}  = 150

 =  >  \frac{8y - 5y}{5y}  = 150

 =  >  \frac{3y}{5}  = 150

 =  > 3y = 150 \times 5

 =  > 3y = 750

 =  > y =  \frac{750}{3}

 =  > y = 250

Now Putting the Value of y in Equation (1)

 =  > x = \frac{8 \times 250}{5}

 =  > x =  8 \times 50

 =  > x = 400

So,

  • x=400
  • y=250

∴Two positive numbers are 400 and 250.
