Answer:

first solution of part1

put X = 1

then 2(1)+y=8

2+y=8

y=8-2

y=6

second solution of part1

put X=2

then 2(2)+y=8

4+y=8

y=8-4

y=4

part2 x-3y=18

first solution of part2

put X=1

then 1-3y=18

3y=18-1

3y=17

y=17/3=5.6

second solution of part2

put. X=2

then 2-3y=18

3y=18-2

3y=16

y=16/3=5.3

Given : 2x + y = 8

ii) x – 3y = 18

To Find : Write two solutions for the equation

Solution:

2x + y = 8

x = 0

=> 2(0) + y = 8

=> y = 8

( 0 , 8)

y = 0

=> 2x + 0 = 8

=> 2x = 8

=> x = 4

( 4 , 0)

two solutions for the equation: 2x + y = 8  are

(0 , 8)  and ( 4 , 0)

ii) x – 3y = 18

y = 0

=> x - 0 = 18

=> x = 18

( 18 , 0)

x = 0

0 - 3y = 18

=> y = - 6

=> (0 , - 6)

(0 , - 6) and ( 18 , 0) are the two solutions of  x – 3y = 18
