Answer:

The answers are cos 53° = 3/5, sin 53°=4/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given problem is about finding the values of  Cos 53°, Sin 53°

let assume that ABC is a right angled triangle

in triangle ABC, if ∠B = 90°, ∠A = 53° then angle ∠C must be 37°

[∵sum of the angles in triangle = 180°]

⇒  we know that every right angled triangle follows the Pythagorean rule then the sides of the triangle must be Pythagorean triplets

⇒ let take any Pythagorean triplets as sides of the triangle ABC

⇒ For our convenient here we are taking smallest Pythagorean triplet  3, 4, 5 as sides of triangle

∵ The hypotenuse is greater than sides ⇒ AC = 5 units

∵ Side BC is opposite 53° than AB < BC,

                                        BC= 4 units, AB = 3 units

therefore sides of ABC are AB = 3, BC = 4,  AC = 5

 ⇒ cos A = cos 53° = \frac{AB}{AC} = 3/5

 ⇒ sin A = Sin 53° = \frac{BC}{AC}  = 4/5

[ these are approximate values of sin 53°, cos 53° ]
