f(x)=6x^2+kx-2
2x-1=0
x=1/2
f(1/2)=6*1/2*1/2+k*1/2-2
0=3/2+k/2-2
2-3/2=k/2
1/2=k/2
k=1
Hope this helps :)

f(x) = 6x² + kx - 2

(2x-1) is a factor of the polynomial f(x).

2x-1 = 0
2x = 1
x = ½

Put x = ½,

6(½)² + k(½) - 2 = 0

6(¼) + k/2 = 2

3/2 + k/2 = 2

(3+k)/2 = 2

3+k = 2×2

k = 4-3

k = 1
