According to the Question

p(x) = kx² - 3x + k

If (x - 1) is a factor of p(x)

Therefore

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

Substitute the value of x in Equation

⇒ k(1)² - 3 × 1 + k = 0

⇒ 2k - 3 = 0

⇒ 2k = 3

⇒ k = 3/2

x-1 is a factor => x= 1

p(x) = kx^2 -3x +k

0 = k -3 + k

=> 2k = 3

=> k = 3/2
