Answer:

x - 2 \: is \: a \: zero \: of \: the \: polynomial

x - 2 = 0

x = 2

Putting the value of x in the polynomial

 {3x}^{2}  - kx + 5 = 0

3 {(2)}^{2}  - 2k + 5 = 0

12  + 5 - 2k = 0

17 - 2k = 0

 - 2k =  - 17

2k = 17

k = 17/2

Ans. 17/2

Hope it helps.

x - 2 = 0 \: x = 2

 = 3 {x}^{2}  - kx + 5

 = 3 {(2)}^{2}  - k(2) +  5

 = 12 - 2k + 5

 = 17 - 2k

17 - 2k = 0

17 = 2k

k =  \frac{2}{17}
