g(x)=-2. p(x)=k(-2)^2-2(-2)+3 = 4k+4+3=4k+7.(x+2)is the factor of p(x) . therefore , 4k+7=0 , k=-7/4 ... now , p(x)= k(-2)^2 -(-2)+k =4k+2+k=5k+2
.(x+2) is the factor of p(x) .therefore , 5k+2=0,k=-2/5

mahesh204: in first equation value of k is -7/4
