Step-by-step explanation:

Given Equation is 3x - 5y = 19

= > 3x = 19 + 5y

= > x = (19 + 5y)/3   ------- (1)

Given Equation is -7x + 3y = -1  ------ (2)

Substitute (2) in (1), we get

= > -35y - 133 + 9y = -3

= > -133 -26y = -3

= > -26y = 130

= > y = -5.

Substitute y = -5 in (2), we get

= > -7x + 3y = -1

= > -7x + 3(-5) = -1

= > -7x - 15 = -1

= > -7x = 14

= > x = -2.

Therefore the value of x = -2, y = -5.
