x= (-3y-8)/3 ----eq.2
putting the value of x in eq.1, i.e., 4x+x-y/8=17
on solving this, we will get the value of y.
y= -61/9
put this value of y in eq.2,
we will get the value of x as,
x= -37/9
x= (-3y-8)/3 ----eq.2

on solving this, we will get the value of y.
